BRITISH GRAND PRIX

LOUIS JOOSSENS (CANVEY ISLAND CASTAWAYS) won the British Grand Prix and moved himself up to 2nd in the overall rankings, 14 points behind the series leader with 2 rounds remaining.  It's a big ask to make up that gap with three-quarters of the campaign gone but he gave himself an outside chance and certainly made sure he stays well positioned for a rostrum finish.  Wild Card for this round RICHIE SAMPSON (ABERAVON GEMS) started with an engine failure but showed he is more than ready to take a GP chance with both hands if we can win a permanent place by riding consistently afterwards to take 2nd in the round.  PETR MARKO (BOTTESFORD BULLETS) moved up to 3rd overall after a fine display which say him add 19 points to his total, unbeaten until the Grand Final where he took 3rd after a sluggish start.  The other Grand Finalist here was PL star HAYDEN WOOD (BIRMINGHAM BOURNVILLAINS) who pulled up with bike troubles in the final but his 13 points move him up from joint 10th to 7th overall and now hoping to avoid having to ride in the GP Challenge.

TIBOR NEMECEK (NECRONS) has had a nightmare GP campaign but double his total here with 12 points to show he can still compete at the highest level on his day.  FILLIPPE CHONG (TILBURY DOCKERS) recorded double figures in reach the Semis and is now joint 8th overall.  Series leader RAFAL ARANOWSKI (READING REBELS) couldn't match his flying form of the rounds so far but still scored 10 points and in the final analysis the chasing pack only ate away 1 point of his lead at the top and he is a massive favourite to win the title still.  The other rider to reach the Semi was BOGUSLAW KRYZNOWEK (TILBURY DOCKERS), he remains just outside the top 8 with 2 rounds to race but a gap of just 2 points can easily be overcome if he can find his best form in those meetings.

JACK HAGEN (STOCKHOLM SCORPIONS), RAY FRANCE (KING'S LYNN LIGHTNING) and ENZO INNACONE (WOLSTON WARRIORS) were hoping to improve their positions near the top of the charts in this round but all failed to reach the Semi Finals and dropped placed; the trio do however remain closer to the top 3 than they are losing their place in the top 8 and should still be looking upwards when setting their targets for the next rounds.  JERNEJ KEGLOVITS (MADRID MAGPIES) scored 8 and clings to his place in the top 8, albeit it joint 9th now with Chong.  JACEK KLECHA (CANVEY ISLAND CASTAWAYS) was the one rider to fall out of the top 8 in this round, picking up just 1 point and he now has to make up a 7 point gap to avoid needing to face the GP Challenge meeting.
