FINLAND/NORWAY GRAND PRIX

The Grand Prix series reached the halfway point and was the round in which RAFAL ARANOWSKI (READING REBELS) opened up a strong lead at the top with a victory, his 18 points taking him 13 clear after going into the meeting as joint leader.  FILLIPPE CHONG (TILBURY DOCKERS) finally showed the GP form everyone knows he is capable of by finishing 2nd in the round and leaping up to joint 9th overall, just a point from 8th place.  RAY FRANCE (KING'S LYNN LIGHTNING) finished 3rd in the Grand Final and that pushes him to 3rd on the overall leaderboard too.  The Grand Final was completed by JERNEJ KEGLOVITS (MADRID MAGPIES) with 12 points seeing him move into the top 8 in a very congested GP series around the automatic qualification cut-off.

ANDERS SOLBERG (WORKINGTON LOGHEADS) proved the latest in a proud line of impressive wild card performers, only just missing out on the Grand Final and joining Pat Watkiss in sitting above a couple of full-time GP riders from just a single round of the 4 that have been completed!  LOUIS JOOSSENS (CANVEY ISLAND CASTAWAYS), JACEK KLECHA (CANVEY ISLAND CASTAWAYS) and ENZO INNACONE (WOLSTON WARRIORS) all reached the last 8 and stay well placed in the top 8 overall.

From the rest BOGUSLAW KRYZNOWEK (TILBURY DOCKERS) scored a solid 8 points but the defending champion just can't seem to find his best form this season and he is joint 9th at present, although this is still just 11 points away from the rostrum places as it stands, and HAYDEN WOOD (BIRMINGHAM BOURNVILLIANS) scored 7 to remain in the top 8.  A trio of riders finished on 5 points and will have had different feelings about their meetings - reserve FRANKIE YOUNG (BOTTESFORD BULLETS) will be happy enough with his total replacing the injured Tibor Nemecek but JACK HAGEN (STOCKHOLM SCORPIONS) and PETR MARKO (BOTTESFORD BULLETS) will have been wanting to score more; Hagen loses ground on the series leader, after starting the day joint 1st, whilst Marko drops out of the top 8 places, for the time being at least.
