GP CHALLENGE SEMI FINAL 2

Experience former GP rider STEEN ERIKSEN took a step towards returning to the series next season with a fine win in the GP Challenge Semi Final. Behind him on the rostrum were Polish duo JERZY WIECZOREK and MIECZYSLAW RUBIK, the former winning a run-off for 2nd in the meeting after they had
tied on 11 points. The remaining automatic qualifying place was claimed by ERLING TROELSEN who could afford a fall in his final ride
after picking up 10 earlier in the meeting to do enough with a ride to spare.

Giovanni Donati was excluded in his first ride and had just a single point after 2 races but still put up a real fight to finish 5th and just miss out on qualification. As always there were some good riders who dipped out of the title race at this stage but in reality the four qualifiers were the best performers on
show and there could be no arguments the right names will go through to the GP Challenge.

After the meeting the GP committee confirmed that TEODOR PATOCKA would be the wild card selection for the GP Challenge after he finished 5th in the first Semi where the top 5 finished
convincingly clear of the field.
